Boxer Booster
We picked up our new girl last night, her name is Mayhem!! We found her at a rescue in MA, she had come from a high kill shelter in Indiana. I guess her owner's landlord told him he had to get rid of her (or at least that's the story he told), so he had brought her to the shelter. She's just about a year and 4 months old.
I knew as soon as they brought her out to us that she would be coming home with us
, her nubby was going a mile a minute and she was all wiggles. We had Havoc with us and let the two of them off leash to run around and get to know each other and it went wonderful, we walked them together and that went really well too, so the decision was simple!!
She's doing wonderful so far, she seems as though she was socialized with people and dogs very well because she LOVES everyone, and didn't show an once of being scared or shy, once she was home she was already walking around like she owned the place
. We have a couple bad habits to break her of, like jumping on people and furniture, and some general manners. She needs a refresher when it comes to potty training cause she did have a few accidents so far, but I'm sure once she picks up our routine, and we pick up her routine everything should be fine. She was in shelters for almost 2 months so I'm sure she got used to just going the bathroom in her kennel. I don't think she was crate trained at all because she was pretty fussy at first but once she settled down she slept straight through the night.
She was quite a puller on leash but as soon as I put an easywalk harness on her she was an angel, I actually walked both of them by myself successfully this morning which I was shocked about
. Havoc and Mayhem can play and play and play for hours, they wear me out just watching, I'm sure once they figure out that they are going to be together for a long time they will cool down a bit, well hopefully!!
I'm sure I'll have many questions as we get to know her more, but that's what's going on in our lives right now :D
