Snow, Snow and more Snow

So we live just outside of Buffalo and man did we get hit with a massive storm last Thursday. We got 27 1/2 inches of snow and with all the leaves still on the trees there was MASSIVE damage to ALL the trees in our area. Power was out for 5 days for us and is still out for about 150,000 people near us. So we had to go stay with my FIL for 4 days because he was the only one that would take us in with Fletcher.

Every tree on our property is destroyed and we can't drink the water because the pumps stopped working. School is out for a week. It looks like a hurrican touched down here.

Anyway, Fletcher was SOOOO funny in the snow. I was wondering how he would be in it. He was trying to bite it out of the air and because there was so much of it, he would jump in the snow and totally disappear and then BAM, pop up out of the bank and I was rolling watching him. He was a perfect gentlemen at my FIL's house. I think he would take Fletcher again before he took my kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear of the storm damage, hopefully it's just trees and not the house itself. With any luck you'll have a mild winter snow season, at least that's what my Grandma thinks. Take the date of the first snow and that's supposed to be the total of snow storms for the season, old wives tales I know but can't hurt to wish.

Glad to hear Fletcher had a ball in the snow, it is so funny to watch them play. I can't wait for our first snow, just to watch Kilbane burn around the yard. He had such a blast last year, he was like a kid, I had to grab him by his collar just to get him to come inside.

Sorry for the snow storm, I know about Ice Storms that knock out all power for about 2weeks & thats the pits! Glad Fletcher enjoyed the snow!

I hear ya, Im in Buffalo myself, but luckly we didnt suffer any power outage and werent effected by the water bans. Though we did have a couple of live power lines down right in front of the house. They finally got around to turning them off yesterday and fixing them. Driving to work has been very nerve wracking what with the major intersection lights being out and buffalo drivers being so insane. Though Dorian wasnt phased by it at all, he loved the snow and was bounding around in it in the yard. Too bad its all melted now and the yard is nothing but grassy mud. :rolleyes:

Sorry for the destructive storm....We are looking at snow blowers right now...
Even though I am in California we get snow where I am (Mountains)
I hate it though when it "dumps" for days.... :(
I wonder if we are going to all get a severe winter this year?
Roxy doesn't love the snow in fact she does not appreciate it when the weather starts dipping below 70 ....she wishes she could just hibernate the cold weather away!

We were heading that way for the weekend I knew of the snow its funny how some area's were harder hit then others. we actually got microbursts of snow they would come and go one second a blizzard the next thing nothing.

Glad Fletcher was able to enjoy the snow no BW for mom though!

I really do not envy you guys but I do wish the termpreture here would drop a bit.
I am taking the kids (skin) to Ireland for christmas so hopefully we may see some snow there, if not we will have to wait until Febuary like last year.

My girl loves the snow. She always wants to be the first one out the backdoor to make the first dents in the new snow.
