smelly feet

Does anyone else's boxer have a problem with smelly feet?

Crash and Boomer spend several hours outside each day when the weather is good and no matter how many baths they get, their feet stink! We often wipe off their feet before they come in the house, particularly if its muddy, to protect our creme colored carpet (what a nightmare...next time I'm getting black carpet!).

They sleep in our bed most of the time and some nights I have to get up and wash their feet with hot soapy water....and that doesn't even help all that much. ANY IDEAS??

Make sure when you wash their feet, you clean between the toes (top and bottom) also, VERY GOOD. Wash once, then rinse, then repeat the shampooing and on this one, let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.

If the smell still continues, I would have the vet check for a yeast/fungal infection.

Give 'em a smell after that you'll never eat frito corn chips again they smell just like those chips:rolleyes: :rolleyes: sorry but yuck!!! now everyone go smell those frito's and then your boxers feet :D :D :D

I guess I am so used to it I don't mind anymore. In fact I would be worried if I stopped smelling it Whenever Rocky stretchs out there is that smell and it does smell like fritos or just plain tortilla chips!

Didn't we have this conversation a few weeks back? With the possible exception of some kind of skin infection lets face it, feet stink to some degree. Dog or human. I think we have been brainwashed by the media a bit on what smells good and what doesn't. There are deoderants for every kind of smell eminating from nearly any part of the body,LOL. I think we need to realize that most dogs are going to have some odor about them. Environment, diet and disease can play a role too, but I'm talking about good 'ol natural smells. If it turns out nothing is wrong with the dogs you could always try a doggey cologne or have them sleep someplace else, although I'm sure you are like me and enjoy having them in the bedroom at night.
