Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows approx. how much a 4 month old should weigh? I am wondering if it is because Bella was so sick or if she was the runt that she is so small. She currently weighs 20lbs.

As you know, we purchased her from a pet store. Well yesterday we went out on a mission to try and find Bella's siblings and ended up finding her brother. He looked so much bigger! Maybe because he's male?

On a sidenote, it took everything I had not to scoop him up and take him home. They were keeping him back at their loading dock because he had a loose stool. We only found out about him because we asked if they had any boxers in the back! Poor Buster brown =(

I don't really know as they all grow in such different patterns...my Laila is small for a boxer..she only weighs about 45 pounds at almost 2y/o, maybe a little more now over the winter, but still a little short...my Frazier, is 6 months old and weighed 40lbs 2 weeks ago and is already as tall or a little taller...they are both from the same breeder... Frazier is actually from Laila's sisters' litter...so you never really know...Congratulations on your new little one!!
They are both the best and who cares as long as you love them...

We got Tyson at 12 weeks old, and he weighed almost 10#. He also is the runt of his litter. Now at 1 year old, he is almost 60#. IMO I think he's ok. I personally would just go by appearance. As long as you can see the last 1-2 ribs, you're ok. Not all ribs though. :)

I agree with Kathysboxer and would go by appearance because they all seem to grow at such a different rate. As long as your baby doesn't look like a bag of bones and is active she should be fine. BUT to make you feel a bit better our Kilby weighed about 13kg (28.7lbs) at 6mths and she has grown up to be a beautiful example of the standard.

On the other hand, Kona is just 8mths and already weighs over 23kg (nearly 51lbs)... she is from the same breeder and even the same father so it's jsut amazing the difference!

I'm sure your baby girl is right where she's supposed to be :)

My first boxer, Jasmine was sick as a pup. Actually I think it was the mom because the whole litter was very small. Jasmine was around 46 pounds most of her life. She lived 13 years with only arthritis as health issues near the end.

Your baby is a real cutie.

Clare, who was also the runt was about 23 lbs at 4 months
Now, at 2 years old, she is around 52-53.
Her metabolism is high speed!

we gave him these puppy vitamins that we found at the store so we bought those and tried them out. It actually helped. :)
