Hi Everyone

Can anyone please give me some advice on our 8 week old boxer.

We picked him up on Monday night and have noticed that he sleeps a heck of a lot of time. I expected him to sleep a fair bit as puppies do, but he will play for about 10-15 minutes and then sleep for over an hour! This is how he goes on all day.

He loves being outside so we take him in the garden a lot for him to run around, he runs around for a short while then he literally drops at our feet and falls asleep!

Is this normal as he is quite young or is it something we should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance

Hayley

I would take him to the vet and have his heart listened just to be on the safe side.;)

But as I remember, Krose was like a koala:D He would sleep for hours and then wake up and play some and go back to sleep again. I think h e would sleep 16 hours a day:LOL:

Think about babies, how much they sleep.. a lot!

Thanks Basak

We've got an appointment with the Vet on Tuesday morning for his injections anyway, I'll mention it to him then.

I did expect him a sleep a lot, but I'm just really surprised on how much! I've read books on boxers and they all say that they needs lots of sleep but I was getting concerned as that's all he seems to do!

I'll keep you posted on what the vet said!

Cheers

My boy Harley is still like this and he is almost 3 years old. He has been to the vet time and again and he is in great shape. It just turns out he is a lazy boxer (I never thought I would say those 2 words in the same sentence:p ). He will lay around and sleep all day and play for about 20 minutes and then it's back to the couch again. I agree on taking him to the vet just to be on the safe side but I wouldn't get all worked up over it until you are sure that you are dealing with more then just a lazy boxer (there it is again:p ) Good luck.
