I like the part about getting a bigger bed. We did that. It didn't work. Ali still wants to snuggle. It's like when the kids were small - one of us end up going in the guest bedroom or feel like a train ran over our legs in the morning. Good luck and if I were you I'd take care of it right now before it is too late.

Jackson, like any boxer, always wants to be by mine and my wife's side. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of letting him sleep in our bed for a few nights when he was really young, so that he wouldn't wake her parents up while they were visiting. We keep his crate in our guest bedroom and he was still whining a little bit at night at this point. Well, of course since then, he's insisted on sleeping in the bed with us. It started at the foot of the bed, but now he wants to sleep with his head right in between ours. We've tried bringing the crate in the room...he whines LOUDLY. We've tried putting his blanket on the floor with his bone...he tears the blanket up and brings the bone on the bed. The few times it did work, he still snuck his way onto the bed in the middle of the night. Anyone have this experience? Any suggestions on how to get him to sleep on the floor? Am I stuck facing the fact that I just need to buy a bigger bed?

ahh I know your situation a little too well. Michael and I let Molly sleep in our bed for the last 6 months. It started out just at the end and then finally she was in between us basically making Michael get up in the middle of the night to sleep on the couch. We finally realized we were making her think is was *Her bed. So, we went and got her a bed and put it at the end of ours. The first 2 nights she put her head on the side of the bed and cried for 2 hours...my best advice DONT GIVE IN!! We let her cry and it drove me crazy but now she sleeps in her bed every night and doesnt even try to get into ours.

Good Luck!

You mean there is such a thing as sleeping without your boxer? =) I couldn't imagine waking up in the morning without Lance's head on my pillow and his sweet good morning kisses. My husbands hates it but...he knew the rules before he moved in..ha ha ha

I think we're going with the buy a bigger bed option...

Lucky dogs!!! We got a bigger bed a while back as my boy is a bruiser but then had to get doggie steps because it was too high for him to jump up and down. The good news is they come color coordinated :) Good luck

Molly sleeps with me and DH. We just wouldn't have it any other way, she is the queen! We have a queen size bed and it works out good. Molly sleeps at the foot in the middle and she will whine until she is covered with her blanket and the she is quickly off to sleep.

Yeah......since the naighbors haven't been so keen on the whining the last week and building management had to tell me to quiet him down (I live in a flat). He's actually gotten more stubborn. I move him to the bottom of the bed and he sneaks up and actually snuggles in even more tightly...It's cute, but not at 3 a.m. I'm stuck with either the new bed or trying getting him his own bed on the floor.

I think I'll try getting him his own bed first...fingers crossed!

Roxy always beats me our bed. She lays on my side (never DH's) and waits for me to make her move. When I get in bed she insists on laying on my legs or where my legs should be. I wake up at about 2 or 3 in the morning with cramps because my legs have either been slept on or bent. All I have to say is "go get in your own bed" and she reluctantly goes. If it is storming, I just have to face the fact that I will have aching knees in the morning because there is no way I'd get her out of our bed! Now, I have a hard time going to sleep without her there.
