Well, now we've spoiled him. Our 3-month old, Ruti, has been regularly sleeping in our bed overnight (in his crate at other times) but now his size, snoring, and general being is effecting our sleep. Is it too late to re-train him to sleep in his crate overnight or will he forever "demand" the bed? Any ideas??

I would assume it's possible to train your boxer to sleep in the crate at night, even though you've let him on your bed. Personally, I share my bed with three 2 year old boxers and I've been sharing with a boxer (or more than one) for 13 years. Now, when I'm away from home, I find it hard to get to sleep without their warmth, cuddling, and even their snoring! One of my girls is a VERY loud snorer - she even snores when she's lying down and awake! I can't imagine waking up without them nudging me or kissing me awake!

We have the same issue. But I rather enjoy it. Tiger falls asleep either between us or between Jerry's legs. But come morning when it is a bit chilly, he makes his way up and sits his rear on Jerry's pillow, and just about pushes me off of my pillow to fit his head onto it!

Even though I don't get much sleep anymore, I do so enjoy waking up with a smile on my face every morning. I couldn't even try to imagine not waking up with him snoring right in my face.

Our Eddie also likes to sleep in our bed. We allowed it for awhile but same as you it got to hard (our skin kids like to join us too). If Eddie got onto the bed my hubby told him down, he then would settle for the floor beside me. BUT after hubby falls asleep Eddie sneaks up onto the bed on my side! When the alarm goes off he gets back down, as soon as hubby goes to work he's up again!

We also have a King Size waterbed, and all three of our Boxers sleep on it, of course under the covers and against me, pushing as hard as can be. My husband got tired of getting pushed out of bed that he now sleeps in the other room, and of course that means I have little bed cause they hog it. None of them will sleep with him because he won't let them under the covers. THe only one that snores is Ellie and she snores loud, sometimes I think her and dad and having snoring contests at night from other rooms. When he tries to sleep inthe bed he gets pushed out very quickly it is the girls bed. LOL

I was worried about this when we went on vacation because Megan sleeps in our bed and when we were gone she would have to sleep in the crate. She got use to it though and didn't give the dog sitters a hard time. She know basically sleeps where ever she wants. Not spoiled or anything.

So you should be able to retrain your dog to sleep in the crate. We alternated. Crate, bed, crate, crate, bed mixed them up and she just went with the flow. Kind of like getting a baby use to sleeping in different environments.
