Trammell

Boxer Pal
Okay, so I'm curious, how many people out there let their dog sleep in bed with them? I'm sure there has been a poll on this at some time, but I'm new to Boxerworld. I don't know about everyone else, but I grew up thinking everyone's dog slept with them. Now that I have my very own, at the age of 24, I can't help but want my little boy right there next to me (he's 12 weeks). My husband insists on it too! The reason I bring this up is because recently I had to fill out a form to enroll Trammell in a puppy class. One of the questions was "Where does the dog sleep at night?" Is this important to training? Does having your dog sleep in the same bed with you make him think he is on the same level pack wise or something? Despite counteradvice, my husband and I don't think it could do any real harm in training. Maybe we are being nieve. I know someday it might be kind of uncomfortable sharing the bed with a 70lb dog, but at the present time I just can't help but allow it. lI would love to hear what everyone thinks on this topic!

I was kind of split on this one, because I do occasionally let her sleep ON the bed with me... but I had to answer "Absolutely not!" as far as having equal rights. She is not allowed under the covers, and so even when she does sleep on the bed (when hubby is gone), but she doesn't ever have equal rights on the bed. ;)

Compromise!

This is our routine:
Farley sleeps in his plush doggie bed on the floor beside me until BF leaves for work at 5 am. Then I reach over and haul Far up onto the bed with me and we sleep together until I get up at 7.30. BF doesn't like him in bed w/us bc we only have a full-size bed, but I love sleeping with him, so he gets in w/me when BF is gone! Also, sometimes BF falls asleep on the sofa, and if so, Far gets his place! You snooze, you lose!

Jesse sleeps under the covers most of the time. Buster sleeps on top towards the foot of the bed. Sometimes I wish that they did not sleep with us because it does get crowded even though our bed is king size. I like how Jesse sleeps under the covers as aposed to on top because Buster seems to make it so I can't get enough blankets 1/2 the time and I am such a sucker I won't disturb my babies to make them get up to get more covers.

Boo sleeps with us ...always has ..always will...we have a king size bed ..so theres plenty of room ... If I have to go out of town for a few days ...Boo will not sleep on the bed w/hubby ...he'll sleep on the couch..he is no doubt a mommas boy !!! :)

The pups start on their pillows, but someone always climbs in bed with us! I dont mind at all. I actually sleep better when they are on the bed. :)

He gets to sleep in the bed. Daddy says it is OK and he started it anyway. We don't have much room, it's a queen bed.
Wow, there are more boxers on the bed than I realized. Guess Toby's not too spoiled.
