Ali is now 1 year and 4 months old and he is pretty skinny compared to other boxers. Do they get there bulk as they age more? he is allergic to alot of things and he only eats dry dog food (about 2 cups) twice a day. He does play alot and the vet said since he takes those allergy shots that he might not grow to much more but we wonder if he will get any bulk to him. also they say you should only see about 3 ribs in the back and you can see almost all of them on him.

I think you will be surprised by the time your boy turns 2. He will do a lot of filling out between now and then. Some continue to grow up to age 3.

Glad to see another "skinny" pup story! Our boy is just over three months old. We've always been able to see his ribs since we got him. When we took him to the vets, she said to feed him three times a day vs. just twice a day. He pretty much eats all his food every time, but his ribs are still showing! He gains weight every time we visit the docs and he's growing fine - all legs at this point it seems. He weighs about 20 pounds and (of course) very active. The doc compared him to another boxer she cares for who just happened to be being boarded at the same time. The other pup was supposedly just one week older, but probably had at least 4" and up to 5-10 pounds on Ranger. The vet didn't seem overly concerned and she's seen him a couple of other times since then. Guess we'll just keep feeding him and maybe he'll grow into that body and extra skin of his!

Madison is very skinny too. She was the runt of the litter and never did get bulky like most Boxers. She weighs 49lbs and thats it! I had asked her breeder when she was a yr old if she would get any bigger and she said they take 2 years to get to full weight and growth but Madison never got any bigger. She's just my skinny minny!
