Skinny boy.. getting bigger!

Hello all!

These are pictures of Rush, our new puppy. He is about 14 weeks old and we have had him 2 weeks. We got him free from a sham-breeder off craigslist who didn't want him because he "didn't look like a boxer" because of his ears and also "wouldn't eat." Poor little guy was so skinny, we got him to the vet asap where he was treated for intestinal worms! Here are pictures of Rush taken in the days after we first got him:

soo.. please let me know if you can think of anything he might be mixed with. The "breeder" said he might be full boxer, might not be, and the vet couldn't tell there was anything mixed and all the mixed breed pictures i have seen do not seem to match him. The only thing really not boxer about him seems to be his mouth, which is not quite as droopy as most boxer puppies seem to have. However, I wonder if he just looks kind of funny because he was malnourished.

we are still working on fattening him up!!

What a sweet looking little boy! I don't know what he could be mixed with. If you are really curious you can get dna testing done. Just do an internet search for the test. I hear they are relatively inexpensive. But in the long run, does it really matter? Aren't you going to love him no matter what? He sure is a cutie!

Definitely!
I'm not worried about it enough to get his DNA checked. Just wondered if anybody out there had a guess!
Thanks for the complement. He is so fun. We are playing outside right now and he loves to chase the soccer ball though it is about as big as he is!!

He still has a black mask, which is usually the first thing to go when they are mixed with something. My guess would be that he is just poorly bred.

He is still very cute and will be a wonderful dog.

The first thing I thought of was Beagle also. Very cute! So glad he found a good home
