Any advise would be greatley appreciated!!!

Princess, 1 year 1 month old, has been struggling with ichy skin for months now... The vet thought it was an allergic reaction to her food. So she is now on hypoallergetic food. That helped for a while then it started again. At that time she went on antibiotics for pyoderma. After that cleared for a couple of days we were right back to square one again! At this time he did a skin scraping, to only find nothing! The vet didn't know what else to do so he said he'd treat her for mites. He gave her a series of 3 shots 10 days apart. Still nothing! Now she's scratching soo bad she makes herself bleed. Her ears have patches fo hair missing and her poor face is full of scabs, also under her arms it's all raw. What to do I really don't know. Please help if you have had any of this and you have an answer or a suggestion would be great...I feel like she's really uncomfortable and i just don't want her to feel that way. She seems to be playfull and happy but she doesn't look soo beautifull cause of the scabs....

thanks a bunch....Margarita and Princess

My dog Buster was itching alot to the point of making his face bleed. We brought the humidity up in the house and within a week he stopped itching (we also sprayed him with Tea Tree Oil for dogs). That was a couple months ago and he has not itched much since.

If that does not work for you maybe you should switch her food to something with natural preservatives. Many dogs are alergic to the preservatives in the food not the type of protein.

Itching!?

Hi, having just read about your poor boxer, I can tell you that our vet told us that Bron was allergic to poultry. We changed his food immediately. However, the itching continued especially in and around his ears. We were given some ointment to apply to reduce the irritability. We discovered that Bron is in fact allergic to carpet, especially if its expensive! We have no carpets now. Bron sleeps in a leather dog bed and during winter has an additional fleece blanket, but no more. ;)
