skin discoloration

Our Zoe has had this brown-looking stuff under her chin, where the folds of her chin are. And she sometimes gets it between her toes. I've tried washing it off, but I don't want to scrub too hard and hurt her.Does anyone have a remedy for this? She is constantly licking at the one between her toes. And I don't want her to get an infection. Any one?

hard to tell without actually seeing it... im under the impression that this stuff don't just come off easilly whne you are giving your baby a bath

It looks like brown dirt. But it's kind of hard to come off. It's underneath the folds of her chin, and I'm sure it's just from eating and not cleaning under there. But I have tried washing it off but she get irritated with me and won't let me wipe it. I just thought maybe other owners might have the same problem as our dogs all have the same loose skin around there mouths. I just don't want to scrub and irritate it. I thought maybe some kind of oil that won't hurt her if she licked it.

We have had that same problem with our female. There is really nothing you can do about the dark color but the licking can be a problem. We changed food to Natural Balance - Venison Allergy Formula and she has stopped licking and biting for the most part. Maybe change the food and it might help
