I have a boxer, Apollo that recently has had little bumps appear on his skin. They look like ant bites/warts that will remain on him for a week or so then disappear. He does not scratch or bite at them and the do not leak or bleed, they kinda feel like a little pebble or bee-bee. When they do leave, however, they create a bald spot about the size of an eraser. This is my first boxer and I didn’t realize that they need such a specific diet until now. He has been on the same chow since he was a puppy. He is currently 5 months now. This maybe just a diet thing, but I am really not sure and I do not what to take him to the vet without knowing a few possibilities of what might be going wrong. Please help. Thanks

My first thought is maybe allergies...but I'm not sure? Can you call your vet and explain the bumps and see if they have any suggestions before taking him in?

This is just a guess, but do you think his skin is being irritated by something he might be encountering outdoors? Just a thought. I'd get it checked out by a vet. There might be some kind of topical ointment that can heal the bumps before they turn into bald spots.

Sorry to hear Apollo is having troubles :( Both my girls have allergies but this sounds different than what I've experienced. Sorry I don't have any advice for you but to see your vet. We'll be sending prayers angelicon your way!

Hope this helps

My puppy vida was having the same problems and i read that it could be common amongst boxers...they are harmless, and i know it looks weird b ut you might wanna check to see if you changed any treats, or food, if you have made a change, compare ingredients from the old food to the new and process of elimination will allow you to differentiate what could be the root cause. I found that for Vida i changed her food not brand but contents, and treats, once i returned it to her normal diet she was fine, and the BUMPS ARE GONE!!!! :) goodluck!

P.S also the vet might have to evaluate your dog, as some dogs need medicine for such cases.

Kuma gets those, too...almost like tiny white pimples...they dont' seem to bother her, she doesn't scratch or anything. I wonder what they are??

Sophie had like 8 of those around her body and our first vet said it was staph....(it wasn't) they eventually went away on their own, and her fur was missing where they were. It has now been about a month and her fur is all back now. The vet at UC Davis said it could be a reaction to the antibiotics she was on at the time? Not sure, but I know they come and go, and don't seem to bother her.
