Is it typical boxer behavior for your Boxer to sit on top of you??? Oh my!! (Like if you are laying down on the bed, for example.

From what I've read and my experience with my guy - they think they are lap dogs FOREVER. SO I'd say yes. Mine does at least.
He continues to jump on the couch and sit his butt on my chest or sometimes on my lap. He always has to be on top of me (which is becomming difficult because he is nearly 6 months old and 45 lbs now).
But if you dont want your dog on top of you - make sure you have the command or ability to tell him/her so. I allow Rocky to - but when guests are over and he tries to sit on them they don't appreciate it.
I'm working on allowing him up on the couches/bed on command only- making him sit and wait (he's basically asking permission) before he's allowed up.
I love it though - I think it's awesome

We do not mind at all... but at 80lbs, sometimes it is squooshing..

Oh yeah. Our boy isn't allowed on the furniture, but every time I sit on the floor with him to cuddle it takes him a while to figure out how to sit on me when my lap is so tiny and he's so big. LOL! He usually just ends up standing in front of me and leaning against my chest.

... funniest thing is my oldest ( who lives at home with us ) is pregnant ~ ( 8 mo ) Sam still trys to get in her lap , then turns and growls at her belly !!! kinda like " dude ur in my spot " !!!
BTW ~ i am not allowed to touch any of the baby stuff ... if she brings home something new and hands it to me to check out ... he "talks to it" and makes a fuss .. i hand it back to her n he stops .... way to funny ( we did have WAY to much fun with a pack of socks the other night !! )
right now sammy is all curled up on DH's lap warm n snug all 70 lbs of him and we wouldnt change it for anything !! ( on my leather couch no less ) really need to work on DH's " off commands " LOL
but it leaves me free to surf boxerworld - with out sam trying to HELP !!!

Juno does this too. She is NOT content sitting NEXT to you.... she always tries her darned hardest to make sure she is ON you! Most of the time I find it incredibly annoying, but sometimes I don't mind being squished by her . Really the worst thing about it is that most other people don't want this 45lb boxer sitting in their lap. So I'm slowly and inconsistently trying to break her of it, for the sake of other people and so I don't always have to pull her off of people. .

mr loki --- STOP TELLING STORIES ABOUT MY HOUSE !!! Sammy Sam sleeps either under cover ( which i prefer , as i can cover up ) or on top - which i freeze !!!!!! glad i am not alone !!!
