Last Thursday I came home from work and Diesel had crapped all over the house. It was all diareah. Thinking that he might have gotten into the cat litter box I wasnt too concerned about him being ill. The next day when I got up for work I took him outside and he still had the runs. I called into work and stayed home with him. The runs started to get better later in the day. On sunday I made him chicken and rice mixed with his dog food. He seemed to be getting better untill today when I woke up. Once again in the middle of the night he had messed in the entire house. He has also had very bad gas the past few days. Way worse than ever before. Sometime he has a little fecal drip from his rectum. Now I am just very worried about him. Something more sirius has to be wrong. The vet clinic opens in a couple of hours and I am going to have to take him. Anybody have any ideas of has been threw this? He is still drinking water and eating when I feed him. Besides being tired he seems to be his normal self, wagging his tail and happy. He is 4 years old.

The first thing i would do is call the vet then i would start adding some pure canned pumpkin to his food. I would use about 2 tbsps per feeding. Make sure he is getting plenty of water and if need be add some pedialite to his water to ensure he doesn't get dehydrated. Let us know what the vet says.

He is still at the vet. They are going to do blood test and x-rays to check if he has something in him. She said that he wasnt dehydrated. I will post when I find out whats wrong with him. Thanks

Sounds like he may have a parasite or its possible the kibble may be bad. I have had one experience with a bag of bad kibble giving my angel Kiddo diarrhea.

The vet called today and said that the x-rays came back negative. Nothing showing lodged in him and all his organs looked fine. The blood test should be back in the morning. They are keeping him overnight to keep an eye on him and I cant miss another day of work to stay home with him. She is giving him some sort of medicine that is sapose to help him with the runs and when he comes home she is putting him on a ID diet. ( I am not sure what that is but some sort of canned food) I hope he gets better like you dog BoxerMom999 and its just some virus that will pass. He is probally worried to death sleeping at the vets. He is a very caring dog that follows me every step I take in the house or wherever I take him. Thanks all for your wishes.

Diesel came home today. The vet found nothing abnormal with any of his blood work or x-rays. She put him on anitbiotics and Hills ID dog food. He still has the runs and is sore by his rectum. She said that he should get better in the next few days and start slowly adding back in his regular food. I usually feed him Canidae. I had ben mixing in Merrick canned food but I am going to stop with that.

BoxerMom999, how long did it take for your Maggie to get better? Diesel has been sick for 5 days now.

Glad to hear that Diesel got to come home. Hopefully he will be back to his loveable self in no time. Balboa and I send lots of healing vibes.
