Hello, this is my first post to here although I've been a member here for some time. I have a 15 week old male boxer who hasn't eaten much in almost two weeks. He has spent three days at the vets office getting blood work x-rays and all that other stuff but the docs can't find anything wrong with him. The last day or two he has eaten a little bit but is losing weight so fast he is scaring the heck out of us as we love him so much we don't want to lose him. Some of his symptoms are every time he belches he throws up and today he has diarrea, which is better than him having no bowel movements for the last ten days. He is very lethargic. Has anyone had similar experience and how did you deal with it? Thanks for your time.

Did he have any vacs recently? Did your vet test for parvo? Did they do a complete blood panel or just regular bloodwork? Is he drinking water and can he hold that down? Watch that he doesn't become dehydrated, if he starts to lose interest in water try giving ice cubes and see if that helps.

If you can think back to when it first started happening and try to remember anything that might of been unusual. Did he get in a garden and eat a plant? Was he out in the sun/heat too long? Did he come into contact with any familiar or unfamiliar dogs?

If you pinch up the scruff of the neck with just your fingers and it doesnt snap back down......thats one sign of dehydration and another is when you put your finger inside his jaw it should be slippery

One thing I tried with Phoebe was sugar free popsicles..........I used SF cause that was what I had on hand

Thank you for your help. Bob had a full blood work up and everything came back negative. He is a little dehydrated but is now drinking water again quite regularly. He seems to be doing a little better today as we went to a raw meat and yogurt diet. He loves steak. I think we are on our way to recovery, thank God. The day this started I was out at a park working on his obedience training. It wasn't real hot but he was doing so well maybe he had too many doggie treats. They were meaty type snacks probably full of all kinds of crap that isn't real good for him. We'll keep you posted on his progress. Again, thank you for your help.

Oh good! I am glad that he is eating something! You can always add in some rice as well to help with stools. Mix a bit of canned pumpkin (real pumpkin not pie filling) with the yogurt and that will help with the runs as well.
