I think if you have the time, energy and money for two then you should definately give it a shot and not worry about the "maybe's" I think several people mentioned that whether two females, two males, one of each, you can always have problems and since your family is already close to this other pup it would be a shame to not give it a try!!! GOOD LUCK with whatever decision is made, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I have two males who were litter mates and thankfully I had no problems with them. The sleep, eat and share food with one another. The olny time they get a little wild is when they both want the same bone to chew. If they get this way, I correct them and take all of the bones away until they calm down.

Each dog has it's own personality and some are more trainable than others. Just let them know that fighting with another dog/sibling from the begining is a no/no.

I would definitely give it a try. If they get along well already and see each other that often, I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I have two females, a boxer and a beagle, and they get along great. I also have a male beagle; they all get along. You can always find a home for one of them if it doesn't work out. Sounds like you are already bonded to the new one, so that issue is already there. And maybe if it doesn't work out you can give one back to your parents when she is older and more mature; your parents may not like caring for a puppy but would like it more as an adult.

Also, my brother had two male beagles out of the same litter. They had a few knock down drag out fights, but quit after a while when they decided on their own which one was alpha.
