Cami

Boxer Insane
For months now dh and I have seen a couple in our neighborhood walking a male boxer, brindle and unneutered. He is huge weight-wise and his chest is extremly big but he is really stocky, (not long from front to back!) And a cutie.
Anyhow, we usually see them out walking when we are going in another direction or someplace that we can't pull over to STALK!
Yesterday dh was walking Cami and there they were! Coming up the street on the opposite side. So, Cami of course starts into her "Dancing Horse Prance" and is totally showing off. About 4 houses away she is getting no attention from these people or the boxer so she desides to start doing her "Human Walk" (on hind legs, walking right along side dh).
They get to within speaking distance and dh say's "hello, how old is your guy?" They said something he couldn't make out and he sorta stops, thinking that they will say it a little louder, but NO, they just kept going on their merry way. No mention of Cami, or boxers in general......
I guess they don't have a Boxer Owner Handbook which CLEARLY states that ALL families with Boxers MUST get excited when seeing other Boxers!
Meanwhile, Cami who I don't think has ever been shunned was clearly thrown by the lack of attention. DH said she snorted a few times and started to continue on with her walk. LOL
Oh well, guess they are not going to be on the playdate list next summer.

Oh well...THEIR loss...they evidentally did not get the handbook and are clueless as to the wonderful stories and laughs they are missing out on!! Such a shame when you think you have found someone as passionate as you about our fabulous breed!! All boxer owners i have met are someone near my obsession!! Keep on movin i say!!

You're right, that is on page 1 of the manual!!! When we are at the dog park or out anywhere boxer owners flock to see Willis and we do the same... Boxer owners are usually just as much fun as boxers! I guess that couple is the exception

Although the last time I "boxer stalked" might have been the last time I ever go out of my way to do it... we ran into a female who was cute as all get out and typical boxer bouncy. But, you could tell she wasn't to "standard" and she looked to be about 8. We chatted with the owner told us she was 3... and they were planning to breed her again with his friend's male something or other.. That is the LAST time I ever ask questions!!!!

Augh! I know what you mean about the breeding thing. At first, I greeted every boxer-stalker with enthusiasm, but since I was walking a beautiful brindle pair, I got quite a few inquiries about puppies or breeding my dogs to theirs. Lecture time! But usually I could tell it was falling on deaf ears. I should have taken them up on their offers, just to see how long it would take for them to figure out the dogs were altered! But mostly I've had good experiences...and my own stalking efforts have been welcomed for the most part. :D I once drove around the block 4 times before I got the chance to talk to the mother of a natural ear/tail white boxer. He was gorgeous! (And she was proud to show him off, as it should be!)
