Hello I was woundering about some info on showing Zoe a little later, like when is it the right time and age, and some of the guide lines and things please help. also is it ok if the ears are not cropped

Hiya pd2691-

thats terrific that youre interested in showing! i think the best place to start is to consult your breeder. they should be your biggest assest as a newbie to the show world. if your breeder is far away, join your local boxer club. as to what time and age to start, and ears cropped or not.. ears cropped is not a huge deal, though most boxers in the ring are cropped, there are people out their that campaign their dogs au natural. :) a few here on this board too! the best time to start is now! get her used to being stacked, handled, and moving around the ring. you can take her to handling/conformation classes. (you can usually find these offered by your local all-breed club) best of luck!

-Kat, Cassius and Nikita

If the breeder you purchased Zoe from is active in the show ring, they should be able to still help you long distance. They can spend time on the phone (and in email) going over the show ring. There are a ton of questions they can answer. They should be your #1 place to go for these answers.

As well, an active show breeder will have contacts in other states they can refer you to. The show world is rather small despite the distance. An active show breeder is the best resource you have when you buy a show puppy from us. It is so hard to breed a dog worthy enough to compete in the Conformation ring. We realize that and will give folks that by a true show prospect pup every ounce of our energy and support :)

Everyone, please. This is why I have posted over and over again, whenever someone comes on looking for a Boxer puppy. Please do your homework. Please ask questions. How many litters has this mother had is a good one. And involvement in the Boxer community is another one. HEALTH TESTING is the best one. I am going to guess this breeder did not give you health testing results on both parents?

My advice is this: Spay your girl and love her. You can still do Agility and Obedience. She will still be your sweetheart. But from what you just said, she was bred by a highly irresponsible breeder who is a puppy mill at best :( Her genetic background is a huge question mark.

Sounds like this man made some wonderful money off the life's blood of a poor 4 year old Boxer bitch.

Not at all he gave me all the test info and a five year ped on Zoe, The thing that mad me sad was the problem with him selling her mother and the amount of litters she has had. Yes after the fact I too think puppy mill but did do alot of research on him before I picked him from 15 breeders. Mybe I might have made the bad mistake of going with him but with everything that we have gotten from him with the tests and papers I at the time thought it was a good one.Maybe you can help this is the name of the bich is and reg #WS005477/05 Malissa's Baby Girl, the sire is CH Niklofs Vindicator
WF783856 06-87. Thought I was doing good butt maybe I wasn't. If it might help you I can send the five year pedigree to you?

What health testing results were you given?
Do you have a pair of 24 Hour Holter test results?
OFA hip ratings on both parents?
OFA Registry #'s for both parents?
Thyroid results on both parents?
SAS Echocardiogram testing results on both parents?

I ask because I went to the OFA website with the names you gave me. There is no record of either parent in their database. This means no one has turned in health testing data to them to register. In most cases, this means the health testing was never done.

It sounds like you unfortunately fell across an irresponsible puppy mill type of a breeder who lied and told you whatever you wanted to hear in order to sell you a puppy.

Are you sure that is the father? According to AKC, he was born 7/13/85. That would make him 19 years old. Email me a copy of this pedigree you got with your puppy: pawprintbx@aol.com

I will see if I know the dogs.

Whoa! Something isn't right there!

Sounds like this man is a real piece of work. That poor mama girl, I hope she finds a second chance in a loving home. I just can't stand the thought that anyone would do that to an animal :(
