I couldn't get the pics! I would call the authorities. If the reactions of the people on here are any indication of how thin this baby is (& I am sure they are) that would be the best thing to do for him. Keep us updated.

The pics didn't work for me either, which is probably best that I didnt see him if he's as bad as everybody has said so far. My heart goes out to this baby and I hope you can do something to help him out. But I wouldn't be surprised if they take her dog away that she wouldn't just go out and get another one to replace it with. Keep us updated on what you find out about this guy. And I'd for sure post a sheet for her on general boxer things (feed rations, weight, exercise, etc.) and hope that she'd find it and take the time to read it. Good Luck.

no pictures

came up for me either. But in a way I am glad they didn't. I hate seeing mistreated animals! As it is I am so sad..going through all the shelter listings in my area..sooo many dogs!

Not to start a debate but is it possible that this dog has a medical problem that might affect his ability to put on weight? I haven't seen the pics so I don't know what the dog looked like, but from the comments he is pretty thin. I would report this to the authorities, show the pictures to them and let them investigate. If it is a medical problem (that she's having him treated for) then ok no harm no foul. But if not, that baby will be saved from an INhumane person.

The pics are apparently over the file traffic limit I will try to repost them later today.

I was also thinking he had a medical condition but she probably doesn't know it because she thinks he's supposed to look like that!

i couldnt bring the pics up, but i would notify the proper athourities and let them know where she will be, being this is a horse show is there a vet present talk to him/her and your opion that the dog is mistreated maybe they can step in and take over.

Could the dog be a rescue? Rex was very thin when we got him. He was baited at a pitbull breeding facility. He is missing one ear. At first I got lots of stares and I few ugly comments when I was out socializing him.
Talk to the lady. Not hostile but informative. This seems like it is more a case of ignorence or she would not be paradeing him around.

True - we are still trying to put weight on AJ - although he now at least looks "thin" - maybe you're right.

But I know when we first got AJ I felt so bad about how thin he was that anytime anyone was looking at him I was always like - he's a rescue and very thin but we're fattening him up. They didn't even have to ask before I volunteered that info.

She does sound ignorant since I would have at least expected her to say something along the lines of that she keeps taking him to the vet and they can't figure out how to keep the weight on him and they keep trying new diets, etc... And he has terrible allergies so he scratches himself or something.

Since I can't see the pictures and I can't compare, I know a Boxer that is 2 1/2 years old and they take him in the vet all the time to try and figure out his weight problem. They cannot keep weight on the poor fellow. And he looked like they were starving him :( He also had extremely bad allergies and is coat was so course and dry even though he was being fed natural dog foods so he scratched like crazy. I've lost contact with this Boxer but hopefully they've tried different vets for second opinions.

Ellen could be right, when I rescued Titan his ribs were sticking out a good couple of inches, he was majorly thin and underweight. But then again in a short time he was plumped back up to normal weight. I dunno, could give the lady the benefit of the doubt I guess.
