Does anyone have a problem with shedding especially with white boxers? I think i saw a thread about this problem before but can't remember what the solution was. I have 2 boxers, one fawn who doesn't shed that much and a white whose constantly shedding. Ozzy, my fawn seems to go through moulting stages during the year and he'll shed like crazy for a month or so but Zak, my white baby shed's so much it's becoming a problem!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Andrea:)

I too have a shedder and a "non"shedder. Jesse my 17 month old female doesn't shed any more hair than I do. But when we adopted Buster my 8 year old male I quickly learn what everyone was talking about with all of the shedding.smashicon I have found that using a rubber curry comb on Buster helps alot. I think all you can do is brush, brush, brush.

When I saw this thread I was hoping to find the secret "trick" to eliminate shedding. Katie is so bad that we will vacum, dust and sweep only to find "tumbleweeds" of dog hair rolling across the floor 2 days later! Can't wait till spring....maybe I'll knit a sweater!

I thought that i read on here before that some kind of oil mixed into their food will help a bit. It was either Flax seed oil or castor oil but i'm not sure which one and how much of it to give. I feed them Nutro Max food which i thought was one of the better foods, correct me if i'm wrong. I only want the best for my babies!!

Thanks for all your responses, it's so nice to be here and share with other boxer lovers.

I too was hoping for answer here too...
Not only does Nestle try her best to cover me (especially when I am in black) with her fur, she bloks the lint roller as I roll it up my leg and looks at me as if I am doing something wrong by removing her fur.

As far as what we find when we sweep up... in only a couple of days, there is enough fur to construct another boxer

Abby had started shedding so badly recently that I was vaccuuming my couch slip cover daily. A friend who used to work with livestock told me about some vitamins or something that could help with that. So I went to Petsmart to investigate. I ended up buying a bottle of stuff called "Mrs. Allen's Shed Stop". It contains fish oils and other vitamins. Within a week of trying it, Abby has almost completely stopped shedding, and her coat looks ablsolutely beautiful (it was pretty before, but now it's georgous). It states that it doesn't stop seasonal shedding, but it will help with with the overall shedding. l can actually brush her without clouds of hair flying off!!

That's great! How long would you say it took before you started to notice the difference? I'm going crazy with the shedding with both my dogs. Seeing how the hair is so small it gets stuck to EVERYTHING :( But I think I'm going to try "Mrs. Allen's Shed Stop"

Oskar has been shedding too. I started about a week ago on one gel cap of flax seed oil broken and on top of his food. His skin was real dry and a tad flaky from the dry air in our house. His skin is not dry anymore and it seems less shedding. I'd like to hear if anyone else has tried this shed stop?
