She won't pee in the rain

Ok, I know Boxers do not like being outside in the rain but this is getting ridiculous! Our 12 week old female boxer is getting really good at going potty outside, she's even started sitting by the door when she has to go! Except when it rains, or even when it's not raining and it's just wet outside. She would rather go in the house than get her paws wet! Is there any trick I can do to help her go outside? I even pick her up and put her in the grass and she just runs to the door, for some reason she won't go on the cement :confused: Any tips?

Well Ginty will be ten years old in February.......... and when its raining.....I tell her up the garden...... she goes outside......peeps around the corner and sneeks back in...... Missy Ginty doesnt like getting her feet wet on the grass........head hung low....when she realizes I have seen her peeping....she goes and pee's outside.........

No suggestions for you. Orion is almost 14 weeks old and is the same way. Luckily, we have an overhang on our house and he is still small enough that if he stands upder that (right next to the house), he can do his business without getting wet. :rolleyes:

pammyjean & MomtoOrion Thank you both! It's the funniest thing to watch because she hates getting her feet wet! She actually walks funny when it's wet outside! I hope she gets used to it soon, we live inn Chicago and we know how our weather can be!!! She actually went on the porch last night and did her thing but she's funny about doing it on the concrete too...geez!!!!:p

I saw the subject and had to reply. Cassius HATES going out in the rain...especially if he has to step on wet grass. We've found that using a huge umbrella does the trick and he's learned to stay underneath it.

LOL! Alright, so Cassius is only five months old...maybe the old "hold it" command is better for older dogs

I'm so glad I'm not the only one w/ a finicky baby. If Brutus smells the rain when we open the door, he will run under the table. Silly boy! We've seemed to regress with the house training thing, so all the rain we've been getting has been a real burden!

Take her at the beach many many times and let her play off leash with a ball .....waves will make her love the rain
Avra is almost 3 years old and loves rain ,water hose and sea.

My pup doesnt like the rain either. The best thing I found was to go outside with her.
