she hates little dogs!

Well i figured out why CInnamon gets so freaked out in the obedience class when the dogs play. Shes trying to get the little dogs. She targets them.. she goes right for them. Is there anyway i can break this habit? Because II would like her to be able to play with all dogs.. especially since I do plan on some day getting a boston terrier

wow that's a hard one I believe you need to socialize her do you have a dog park around or a pet store that let's dog's in. when she is near a small dog maybe you can talk with a soothing voice as so your boxer knows the little dog is not a threat also you say it is at a puppy kindergarten and I'm sure you should learn the sit stay comand just make sure you use it all the time good luck

im going to try her with my sisers dogs. One owns a shitzue the other a mutt.. both little things. Shes good with the shitzu.. but she hasnt seen him in a while and he used to run from her anyway

My rottweiler Crash is the same way with little dogs. I think he thinks that they are cats (and he does NOT like cats). His main target are pugs. DH and I take Crash and Tyson to the dog park every weekend. What I've been doing, is if he gets near a pug I make him sit and give him a treat. If he starts sniffing the pug and doesn't try and knock it over, I give him a treat. As long as he doesn't try and plow over the poor thing, I give him a treat so he'll start to associate small dogs with getting treats, which would make it a positive association. I do see some progress, although at times he still gets a little too rough with them and I just call him to me and move to a different section of the park.

introducing boxer pup to yorkie

My daughter is getting a boxer and will be moving back home soon. We want to be sure the boxer does well with the yorkie, any ideas on building their friendship?
