She has cancer.

Hi everybody. I lurk a lot here, haven't posted in a while, but I love reading the forums. I adopted my baby, Faith, a year and half ago from Boxer Rescue LA. I found out today she has advanced lymphoma.

After agonizing and crying nonstop all day, I'm opting not to do chemo for her. I'm trying to make the best choice for me and for her, and it's so hard. I've never been through anything like this in my life. I'm going to make her as comfortable as possible and let her go with love. I've never had a dog before, and I can't believe she's being taken from me after such a short time. Likewise, I can't believe how much having her has changed me and my life for the better, and for that I'm incredibly grateful.

She had a rough life before I rescued her, but I hope her last year and half has been blissful. I think it has, I've done everything I can to make SURE it has. I wanted to thank everyone here for all their advice and insight. Hug your babies today, because you never know how long you have with them!

I am so sorry to hear about Faith :( My hubby and I were just talking earlier about how we hope they live for a long time, but you never know. How awful for you and Faith. We'll be praying that she can be with you for a long time yet.

I'm sorry to hear about Faith, but just hang in there and keep making her life the best it can be! Give her lots of treats (even the bad ones, like french fries) and love her while you can!

I'm sorry to hear she has cancer. That is always very hard. Wishing you and Faith (also my daughter's name =)) the best of the time you ahve left together. You both have helped each other and those bonds are often the strongest. Nothing can break them, not even passing. Try not to grieve her loss before she is gone, as hard as that is. Make some good memories, there will be time later to mourn. I am very sorry.

I am so sorry. I also respect your decision, putting them through Chemo is so expensive, there is no guarantee, and it is so difficult on them physically. Enjoy the time you have left with her, make sure you take lots of pictures so you can remember her healthy, happy, and loving you. Give Faith lots of love from me!
