Not sure why she does this, but Brittany only seems to bark at me. Especially when putting her leash on to go out or when letting her out of her crate. She was with my parents for the last week and they said she never barked at them (only when playing). Is this possibly a dominance issue, is she trying to establish her dominance with me? She is almost 6 months old, she plays fine with other dogs, tries to be alpha with some of them, but not all.

Could be. I'd find a couple of books to help you decide and to guide you into what can be done to establish your Leadership in the dog's eyes.

If she barked and me when I was letting her out of the crate, I would shut the door and leave. She will soon figure out that the barking doesn't get her anywhere. I would do the same when I was getting the leash. I would hang it back up and leave. She would soon get the idea! :)

Most of the time, especially when putting leash on it's more of the woo woo sound, not real loud, I'm guessing it could be her being excited to go out as well. She doesn't bark when I approach the crate, it's after she is out again could be excitement...

I think it's a sign of excitement. My Jade will bark at me when she's feeling fiesty and wants to play and that's the only time she barks at me. I'll tell her no and then ignore her so she understands that I'm not going to play just because she says so and when she calms down I praise her. When yours barks while trying to get the leash on just put the leash down and walk away until the barking stops, eventually they learn.
