Shampoo and Conditioner?

I don't know where this questions fits do I am placing it here.

Champ does not like showers that much, however he does like the fresh and clean feeling afterwards, because he runs around in circles and wants to show off. My vet told me that his skin is very sensitive and the reason he was excessivly shedding was that I was giving him a bath to often and that the shampoo was taking the oils etc. out of his skin. This is why he is now on a fatty acid supplement.

I was wondering if there is a shampoo or conditioner that is availalbe that will be better for his skin and his coat? I have also heard of using baby oil on there coat for extra shine and to replace skin oil loss ? I would enjoy other opinions on this issue of washing and exterior skin and coat care.

I am not sure that I would use baby oil on the coat, it will allow for dirt and particles to stick to the coat and get all dirty which will require more bathing.
Plus baby oil is not water soluable so I would not use it.

You could try to use Woolite, it has a very low PH balance and will leave a great shine, this is what I use on my boys and it rinses clean!!!!

Try not to bathe too much, maybe give spit baths as well in between.
There are several waterless shampoos I use for in between bath times.

One of mine has really sensitive, allergic skin, but I have found a few oatmeal dog shampoos that have worked fine.
I think in general if you casn find an all natural oatmeal formula it should be gentle enough.
Also, I only give mine a bath about 3 times a year, unless they role in mud or something. I brush them with a rubber mitt and feed a high quality food and they have never had any doggy stink at all.

For my baby's sensitive skin we use Dr. Goodpet shampoo- it's all natural - it's the only thing I've found (thru MANY trial and errors) that he isn't allergic to....
