Leeta's Mom
Boxer Pal
At about 4am this morning my 4.5 month old boxer jumped off her mat. She had thrown up a chunk of food and was shaking uncontrollably. My fiance and I were just watching a movie and she had been sleeping for at least an hour. I'm not sure if she was suffocating on the vomit or not and it woke her up. She came immediately to the couch and cuddled in my lap. I was concerned she was having a seizure or something but it was more like the shaking one would see in a parkinsons patient. She also felt really hot, perhaps she may have had a fever.
As she tried to go back to sleep she would start shaking herself awake. About an hour later it had completely passed. I took her to bed with me to keep a close watch on her. She would start shaking in her sleep until she had woken me up as well as herself. This morning there was more minor shaking and I'm really confused. She doesn't seem sick and she hasn't gotten into anything. I've scoured the house for anything that could be poisonous that she could have gotten into but I found nothing. I've taken her out to play and she seems fine but she's still shaking when she lays down.
I was hoping that she was just excited about something but it doesn't seem to be the case.
Has anyone had any experience with this? This is my third boxer and I've never seen anything like this. I'm going to take her to the vet tomorrow if this doesn't subside.
