Rudy-Red Fawn with White - 6 yrs
This is my first post because it's the first time Rudy has had a problem. We had a large Memoiral Day party and Rudy was having a great time running around the pool with the kids and dogs. After about 3 hrs of non-stop play he came in and flopped down frantically licking his paw. When he stood up he curled up the paw and attempted to walk on his knuckles and couldn't so he dropped down again. He was obviously in pain. I took him to the emergency 24 hospital. The vet could not find anything and thought he had been bitten by an insect so she gave him a cortisone shot and some benedril. He was fine after that for two weeks when it happened again. And three more times, always on weekends. To make a long story short he saw two more vets and had an x-ray. Nothing. Today we saw an orthopedic surgeon and he believes it to be a fractured sesamoid bone, which iis usually found in rottweilers but most uncommon. He is going to the surgery center Aug 1st for a work up and if its confirmed he will have surgery.
