I have a 10 week old boxer, He has been with me just over 10 days now, I know he is still young but whenever I leave, he howls and makes a huge mess of his pen (pees and poops and then manages to track it everywhere and he upturns everything)

Most of the damage is in the first 20-25 minutes of someone leaving. And he when he is in his pen and we are home he manages to pee next to the pad more times than on the pad (I think he doesnt realize that he is not peeing on his pad as he should).

Does anyone have any suggestions to help with both his anexiety and his bad aim?

Do you have things for him to do? I'm sure you do, but just checking. My first
Boxer was TERRIBLE when I left! His WHOLE life! But my biggest mistake was that I never crate trained him. When I first brought him home I tried, but he'd cry and puke, so I would take him out! HUGE mistake!! He never learned to be ok alone, with his own company. Is your puppy crated ever? If you're not using a crate for training, I highly suggest you start! They have natural instincts of cave living and security. After about 2 weeks (or less) of cries, he will love it. It also teaches him to be clean and not mess in his living space. I have zero experience with puppy pads, I would guess teaching aim would be difficult! ;)
Good luck and be strong! It will pay off!

I have a crate and a pen. At night he crashes in the crate only and I get minimal fuss out of him. When I leave anywhere I combine his crate and his pen (so he has a place to sleep and a place to play, drink water and goto the bathroom).

Anytime he is in his pen, he cries/wails. I have tried giving him toys to keep him busy, stuffing Kongs with pb and kibble (which only works for about 5 minutes), and have tried music/tv to have the human voices as ambient noise to try and give him comfort. Nothing has seemingly changed anything for him.

I did try to leave him in just his crate yesterday and he blew that up in 15 minutes and that was a pain to clean up (at least with the crate/pen combo he only makes a mess of his pen and then goes to sleep in his crate).

Thanks for help. As for aim, I just cant wait for him to get all of his shots so I can take him outside.
