Otto has a sensitive tummy (loose/semi-loose stools, no vomiting, 2 am trips outside for #2 nearly every night) so we thought we'd first try to change his food to see if that would help. He is currently eating Canidae.

Would something like Wellness fish & sweet potato be appropriate or is that just for skin allergies? I read the description on their website & it just said "for allergies".

Our other choice is California Natural. Both are on WDJ best foods list so I know they are good. I just would feel more confident getting user opinions.

Has anyone used these food for sensitive tummy dogs?

Just a thought -- are you sure you aren't feeding him too much? That can cause loose stools. If you do think it is sensitivity to food, either of the foods you mentioned is good to try -- it really will just depend on what food he is sensitive/allergic too. I used California Natual with a foster I had and she seemed to do well on that. I feed my own dog Wellness Super 5 Mix Chicken, so I'm also a fan of the Wellness brand, although I've never used the fish formula. I think it will be trial and error, but as you noted, they are both high quality foods.

Question

My boxer has a rash & the vet of course tried a few things then put him on pred. Now I read the not so great things about pred & also Nutro. So I want to get him off of Nutro chicken & rice and also the pred. Went to the pet food supply company yesterday & they said to try either Solid gold holistic(veg diet) or wellness fish 7 sweet potato. They gave me quite a few free samples 7 said to put Nutro in one bowl, solid gold in the other bowl 7 the fish sweet potato in another bowl & see which one he goes for. Now I have to wean him off nutro. Any ideas about these foods?
