He'll probably get it every year. Austin does. About this time he starts losing the hair on both of his sides, and by around June it's all grown back in again. I've heard you can use Melatonin for it, but I've never tried it.

Roxy used to get it every year. When I changed her food to grainless, unbelievably, she stopped getting it. I think it had something to do with her allergies. It happened every spring, it would grow back but boy she looked kind of pitiful until it did. :)

Both of my boxers have this. Buckeye is worse then Steeler. We have choosen not to put them on medicine. We have installed "sunlight" light bulbs over there beds. You can get them in a Menards or Lowe's or any place like that. It has really helped. Buckeye looses most of his back fur so we put a coat on him all winter but it always comes back thick and healthy in the summer. We took them to the Derm specialist at OSU and he said it is nothing that affects their health it is only cosmetic.
