Scratching

Hi guys I in need of a little help. My 8 month old bitch Shankly seems to be doing a lot of scratching for no apparent reason. It seems to be worse when she first gets up in the morning she will have a good old scratch for a couple of mins. The areas she goes for are at the back of her front legs and round her neck. I've had several good looks at her skin and everything seems fine no fleas etc. We do give her flea medicine every 4 weeks so I'm sure its not that.

What are you feeding her on? Do you feed her at night or in the morning? My mums Collie had similar problems when she was a puppy. After a lot of testing it was discovered that the problem was that her diet had to much proteen in it. She has now changed to a dry, glutten free, dog food, which only contains rice and vegatables. We do notice if she pinches the cats food or if we feed her scraps of meat that she does start scratching again. If she is already on a similar diet I would say a trip to the vets should be in line.
