Scrappy got bit by a cat...

OK here is the situation...my boyfriend and I live with a roommate and he has this cat that hates dogs. This cat's name is Mouser and weighs 28 pounds. The dogs go outside to look into our roommates sliding glass door to see this cat and are always trying to play with him. Welp, today, I let the puppies out in the backyard and I left the door open about 4 inches. I went to our roommates room to shut the blinds and next thing I know, Scrappy comes flying in the room to see the cat and Mouser starts attacking him. About 30 minutes later, I notice Scrappy is limping and I look at his right front leg and there are two bite marks. That happened about 3 hours ago and there is fluid coming out. He is current on vaccinations and so is the cat. Is there anything I can do tonight to keep him out of pain? Tomorrow I work all day and then I leave to go to Louisianna for three days. When I go to work, I am going to take some gauze and an ace bandage and come home, put some neosporin on the wound and wrap it up. Is there anything better I can do to help him not be in pain? It won't be until Monday when I can take him to the vet. Any advice is greatly greatly appreciated!!!

HOLY SCHMOLY!! A 28 POUND CAT!!! I think scrappy should be fine. Just keep the would clean and wrapped. I just hope he's not traumatized by the gigantic kitty!

Cat bites can be nasty because they're a puncture wound, often deep and close up quickly. I don't think you should wrap it, rather leave it open. You should even keep the "scab" scrapped off - sounds gross, I know. But if it's open it won't get infected.
My 21 year old kitty that left for the bridge a few weeks ago got in a few catfights in her lifetime. A catbite will abcess quickly because the teeth carry germs deep into the wound and then it closes up fast. I took care of a few myself by just removing the scab and putting enough pressure to release the infection (pus) . It would usually heal up quickly after that.
Mean ole cat...picking on a helpless Boxer.

I would call the vet and see what the vet recomends you do and if at all possible perhaps your roomate could take your dog in to see the vet! My concern would be infection I hope your baby is feeling better soon!

I deffinately think you should go the vet and get some antibiotics. Like nanabear said, cat bites are bad stuff and just keeping it externally clean may not be enough to prevent a bad infection. Better to be safe then sorry.
