Thanks!

I'm going to start her on Nutro, and then I may change if that does not work out. I went to several websites, and found that there are several stores around my area (which I would have *never* found otherwise!) that sell some holistic foods (California Natural & Canidae). I think I'll check them out. Thanks!

Thank you all once again last night I went out and changed foods and of course Rocky doesnt mind at all. I think that if i would put anything in front of him he would eat it. Once again you all helped out alot.

Iams to Wellness

I was feeding my 11 week old Sasha Iams and she would rather me give her a bath than eat. Consulted my vet and the Whole dog journal, and switched her over wellness last week. She now eats like it's going to be her last meal, and from what I've noticed so far, the transition from Iams to Wellness hasn't produced soft stools, and she seems to have more energy. I chose Wellness beacause of the natural ingredients and because its was available at a local feed store (most web sites from the WDJ tell you where the food is avaiable), almost all of the foods on the WDJ are top notch.

I am kinda getting worried now. I just recently bought chicken soup for Pimp and now I am hearing that a lot of people's dogs are haviong gas problems and loosing hair. I am possibly rethinking changing his food. Any suggestions or should I give it a shot?

I'd give it a shot :)

I've never fed Chicken Soup but I've read (quite literally) thousands of reviews and experiences of those who have used it on these forums. Same goes for most other dry dog foods too. And with every single one of them there are some dogs for whom the food does not work. That's just a fact of commercial dog food - there is no food in existance that works for every dog. Chicken Soup has a pretty good ingredient list - better than most and the vast majority of the reviews it gets are very positive. Yes, there are those it doesn't work for - and those people have found an alternative for their dogs that suits them better. But whatever that alternative is, I can guarantee there are some other people's dogs who do badly on it.

In short, all you can do is choose a food with very good quality ingredients, and then see how it works for your dog. Chicken Soup fits that description nicely - and the only way to find out whether or not your dog will thrive on it is to try it.

Thanx! It is nice to have a sight were you can get some outside opinions. One more question. How soon after a puppy comes to his new home should his food be changed? I know you should gradually add in the new kibble, but when should you start adding it? 1-2 weeks after he adjusts some?
