could it be ants?

We were battling with ants in my backyard before Cocoa came along and we thought we had the issue fixed. Fast forward almost 11 months, let Cocoa out in the yard by herself she comes in covered in little bumps and one eye swollen. She had gotten herself into an ant pile! So that could be an idea look to see if there are any of those little nasty ants running around.

The same thing happened to me with Kia. She was fine and took a nap when she woke up her face was huge!! She also had hives all over her body. I gave her some benadryl and called the vet. They said just watch her and keep giving the benadryl, if it gets any worse than bring her in. Luckily she "deflated" after a couple of hours but it was scary. The only thing we saw different was that she was laying on some newspaper when she went to sleep but the vet said that couldn't be it so we just watch her real close to see what kind of mischief she gets into when she thinks we aren't looking. I'm glad abigail is feeling better. Hope you can figure it out

Couldn't find any ants.. bees.. etc

We're beginning to think it has to be ants, or maybe a yellow-jackets nest something like that. We walked the entire back yard it's pretty big but we didn't find anything. She hasn't done it since Tuesday night. I've been letting her out and after a minute or so go out and see whats she doing to see what part of the yard she is hanging out in. The other night had I know to give her that much Benadyrl I could have save my self $185.00 at the er. But what do you do I got scared when the knots started appearing under her neck ..huge knots. I was giving her 2 teaspoons of childrens benadyrl they said to give her 3 pills of adult benadyrl. I gave her approx 24-25 mg she needed 75mg.. they could not tell me this over the phone and her regular vet was closed ... Oh well I learned from that and now just finding out what's doing it would be nice. Even after they gave her the 1st shot the swelling only came down a little the cortizone shot did the most I think.
