Hi everyone,

Here's a strange one for you all.... I have been feeding my boy Nikki BARF since I got him. Yesterday I gave him a whole chicken carcass for the first time, usually I chop them up ito smaller pieces. He had no problem eating it, the problem is that he was not using his paws/feet to hold the carcass down as he ate it. In fact, if the meat touched his feet he would promptly move them well out of the way. It's as if he's scared of the meat touching his feet and legs. I thought dogs were supposed to use their feet to hold their prey down as they tore chunks of meat off. Is there something wrong with him or will he evantually get over it?

Rocco doesn't use his paws to hold the meet down either. He just stands up over eat and chews it. He's funny with the raw food. He'll pull the chicken (or whatever kind of meat I gave him) out of the bowl and lick it a few times, then he walks into the living room then back in, licks it again, then finally starts chewing on it. The nastiest thing he does is try to bring the chicken into the living room so he can eat it on the carpet. We put a baby gate up and have a small piece of carpet that we put in the kitchen so he can stop trying to bring it in the living room! Gross!

no meat feet

greetings,
my dog daemon does not like water and will hold his stool until it stops raining but he will eat a raw bone with his paws. It seems they are not fond of the sticky blood perhaps. dogs can have complexes too.
