gojoe, I just read your entire thread and my heart is breaking for you. I can honestly say that if I had a first time rescue experience like yours I would feel the same way about wanting to know my next dog's past from the very beginning before I adopted again. I am so very sorry you had to go through this exerience. It brings back many memories for me of a male boxer that I once had. He, too, was aggressive and I was afraid of him. I tried so hard to work with him until I finally gave up; I gave him away. It is very sad memory for me; I hate thinking about it even after so many years have passed by. There is nothing in the world like having a boxer that you can trust and feel connected. I sincerely hope you find a baby that will bring you lots of joy. I know you will give it a wonderful loving home.

I've been perusing the new puppy threads, how to find a breeder threads, training threads, etc. etc. etc. Very excited about getting closer to bringing a puppy home and making sure all is ready. Will keep updated.

Found!!!

It's official. Thank you for your assistance, advice and support. I'm jumping in w/ both feet this time and have decided on a show prospect. I was originally looking for a puppy but was so happy w/ the breeder and how they raised and handled the dogs that I've decided on a 'teenager' who i'll be bringing home in 2 weeks. I'll be learning how to 'stack' and have classes all lined up for him and I. I'm really excited and feel a lot more comfortable going into this armed with way more knowledge and the assistance of a reputable and experienced breeder. I also have more time and resources now than before as well to put into

I'll post pics and the final update when I bring him home. I've been 'haunting' the SHOW and HOW TO FIND A PUPPY threads lately and will call the update post my last entry to this thread and a happier ending than the last time.

Once again, thank you all!!!

Congrats on the new baby you will be receiving soon. You have been through alot in the past and this will be a chance at a new start of owning a boxer. I am glad to see that you are going with a little older one then a new puppy and getting into showing, how exciting is that. Good Luck with this baby and please update with pics and stories.

Good luck at the vet and I hope he gets a clean bill of health. He's lucky he has you and visa versa.

Absolutely Perfect

It's been a wild ride but all is well with the new Boxer Baby in home, he's smart, well mannered and loves us to death. I'm glad this site was here as a resource to assist me in finding the information needed to make a wise choice in selecting a breeder and makin sure i was asking all the right questions. Domino is a wonderful addition to the family and has already enriched my life with his antics. I look forward to a happy and long future with him.

Thanks to all! I'll be posting more pics as i get them. It's hard to get him sitting still for more than 2 seconds and the digital camera is horrible with anything that moves.
