I'm so proud of my boy...he has finally learned to go down the stairs! Poor little thing, he couldn't do it while his cast was on, and after it came off he was afraid. But last night I stayed on the steps with him, talking him through it:rolleyes: He was sooo funny, he would whimper and whine and look at me like 'Mom, why can't you just pick me up and carry me?' But, after about 10 minutes he finally made it all the way down!appicon This morning he has been up and down about 4 times, getting faster every time. Isn't is funny the things we are proud of them for?:)

Oh I miss the puppy exploration days! I remember when Oskar learned the stairs! He was good with going up but had quite a few tumbles down until he got the hang of it! Then it was up down up down up down!!!! Congrats Sam!!!!

I remember teaching Popcorn about stairs, they are so cute when they stop and want you to help.

Congratulations! fiesta1ico

I miss those days too! We have split stairs so Mason mastered those quickly. I brought him to my parents, who don't, and he was afraid of them. I guess to a pup those extra 5 or 6 stairs make a big difference!

Congrats on the stairs!

It is so cute to watch them discover what they are capable of. It is funny you mention the litter box. One of Dharma's favorite treats was "kitty-rocca," as my wife and I call it.

Congrats on the stairs! We were so proud of Laila when she finally learned to go down the stairs (up was so much easier, but she would get stuck up there ;) ). It is so neat to watch them learn to do things and become more confident each time.

Jill :)

Sam just wanted everyone to know that he can go upanddown,upanddown,upanddown....I think you get the point. He seems to be very proud of himself, although we still laugh at the technique he uses to come down. He will put his front paws on the step below, and very carefully hop down onto it with his back legs. Looks like a rabbit! But such a cute one... :p

Oh, NW Dharma..Sam hasn't actually found the 'treats' in the litter box...YET. But since he seems to enjoy snacking on his own poop occasionally, I imagine he will. I need a baby gate!!foolicon

I guess I shouldn't have taught Sam to go downstairs. We have brand new carpet, and he has pooped on it twice.:( Although the second time he must have felt bad about it because he tried to eat the evidence. How gross..I am not kissing him anytime soon!! Oh well...
