seameal

Well we began the seameal for demodex... now Guinness wakes us up in the middle of the night to go outside and gulp snow like you wouldn't believe...we can't get him to come back inside. last night I just gave him water and he drank it in a minute then threw it up (from drinling too fast I think) 5 minutes later. THe seameal is the only change in his diet...has anyone else seen this???

I was reading your posts and others about seameal. I just bought this stuff Thursday night and she has had it in 5 meals so far. No problems that I have noticed and she seems to really like it. Hope it helps with the demodex. I haven't noticed her being more thirsty either. Sorry I wasn't of any help. How bad is your pup's mange and how old is he/she?

He's 6 months and balding! he has alot of spots...some are starting to connect and make bigger spots...but I do think I see some hair growth...keep those fingers crossed we've been doing this for about a month...

I'm sorry to hear that!

My two have been on the seameal for a month now with no problems! Tyson is a little over a year and Ali is comming up on six months! I have had nothing but positive results from the sea meal! Are you sure it's that??

We're not doing anything else different... so I don't know...we're going to give him half what he's supposed to get and see how that is.

I've been giving the seameal to all my dogs over the past year+ with no problems that I've noticed. Hailey did get demodex mange about two or three months ago and when I took her to the vet they did start her on that ivo (something) liquid medicine. She had to go through two treatments. I still don't feel like she is healed completely. So I'm not sure seameal was the answer to the demodex mange.

Well, if seameal is the only dietary change then you have to consider it is a likely cause. It could be just something in the mix that doesn't agree with your particular dog, or that he's allergic too. I presume you're using it to try to boost his immune system and hence help him battle the demodex. What about trying a different supplement (eg. missing link) or - even better - a raw natural diet?

If it's the only change you've made, it really could be the culprit.

Missing Link, DermCaps ES, or a Salmon Oil mix might give you good results. I saw skin and coat improvement within two weeks in doing a combo of the first two.
(I am not giving up on the SeaMeal just yet, but I just haven't seen a change in my pup since we started it recently, so I may just drop it from the routine soon).
