Sadie's use of "pee pads"

Sadie is my 10 week old puppy. I know that she is too young to be completely housebroken and I have recently purchased the "pee pads" for her. Unfortunatly, Sadie has found it more enjoyable to chew on them and run around the house with them rather than use them for their intended purpose...anyone have any suggestions on getting her to use them??

It won't happen. I have a box of unused pee-pads that are destined for booby-gifts. I think by the time you train her not to eat them, she will already be house broken. Or at least that's how it worked out with Coz.

Sorry, no suggestions on how to get her to use them... but that sure was a funny mental picture of her running around the house with them!
I think you'll probably end up throwing them out because chances are she'll be housebroken before you can teach her to use those. Plus, the ultimate goal is housebreaking... you don't want your adult boxer peeing on those pads, believe me.

I had this problem from time to time with Quinsi. We always had 2 pads out for him.. one in the living room area and one near the back door. Eventually the living room was taken away and the one near the door stayed. Every now and then he'd try to grab it and take off with it. We would quickly take it away from him, tell him sternly NO, and give him a toy to play with instead. This seemed to work.. he only did it a handful of times and now he doesn't grab it at all. He's 5 months old but we still keep one near the back door "just in case".

Just Saturday we were saying how good he had been not making any messes in the house. We were cleaning up our bedroom and he was back there with us (he normally is not allowed near the bedrooms) and he was boxer burning on our waterbed and the next thing we know, he's peeing! :eek: We grabbed him and threw him outside and told him NO BAD PUPPY. Then we had to wash everything.. ugh! Little turd!

I hear you, When we tried to get Tugga to use these he would play with them, so we asked our obedience instructor. She says that they make a wooden frame that holds them flat, and the dog won't want to pick them up. Not that he'd want to pee on them either, but it kinda made sense. By the time we gave up, Tugga was housebroken.
