Sad story and a question

We just heard from our breeder that our new puppy's mother got hit by a car and had to get put to sleep. :( Our new puppy (which we already payed for) is about 5-6 weeks old and is already weened. But will losing her mother at age have any psychological effects on the pup that I should be concerned about?

I'm so sorry to hear about your puppies mother. I wouldn't think that there would be any serious problems. Just don't bring the puppy home yet. It's important that the puppy spends the next couple of weeks with his littermates.

Hi, we got Fritzi (fawm/blk mask) at 6 weeks old. She is now 4 yrs. old. The only thing I found is she "chewed" on my arms until about 6 mos. of age, I am the sole caretaker. I rubbed some apple bitter on my arms and that ended that. A vet told me she was treating my like her mother with the chewing. Other than that she has been wonderful. At 6 weeks she loved it when I would lay on a recliner and place her over my beating heart. She is a wonderful dog and I envy you, I would love to have her little again and depending on me.....
