Boxer Play Dates
Anyone know of any boxer bashes or play dates in the San Francisco Peninsula?? I live in San Mateo and usually take my 10 month old male, Buddy
to dog parks in the area but all the people with other breeds look at him like he's crazy! Would love to watch him play with other boxers.
The other day when I took him to the dog park he just leaped right over another dog that was standing still. It's like he has springs on his feet!
He loves to jump and some dogs don't appreciate it. Does anyone else
have this problem?

Cassius and I live in San Francisco and we would love to get something going either in San Francisco or somewhere near San Mateo. I work in San Mateo and often take Cassius to Montara Beach which is a nice quiet, clean beach. There is a large dog park at Seal Point on 3rd Avenue and a smaller dog park in Foster City that seem to be pretty well kept. Also there are plenty of very large dog parks in San Francisco.
I do have the same problem with Cassius and other dogs. He tends to scare the other dogs or owners because he stalks them upon approaching them, then pounces on them and is Very vocal when playing. He does play with on other boxer near our neighborhood and they can go for an hour straight.
Let me know.

Buddy and Cassius Play Date

He will be a year old on 11/28 so he has lots of energy to play and it would be great for him to get together with another young boxer and who ever else would like to join in.
He gets along fine with other dogs it's just that some dogs don't appreciate the "boxing" or jumping (especially the older ones). He is not vocal when he plays. How old is Cassius?

Cassius would love to play with buddy. Im sure buddy is bigger than Cassius but he plays well with larger dogs as long as they get along with him. Cassius is now 7 months old. Cassius gets along with every dog. If they growl at him, he just stays away from them. The first thing he does when he sees another dog is he gets real low to the ground like he is stalking the dog. Then we he gets to the dog, he usually boxes it and barks a lot.
Let us know if you would like to get together on a weekend and we can have them meet.

Buddy weighs 67 pounds and is a flashy fawn, floppy ears male born 11/28/04.
He too will get down low with his butt up in the air...too cute! He doesn't growl at other dogs, they usually growl at him and then he backs off.

This saturday probably wont be the best day for me, but maybe we can do something next Saturday.
I just took him to Fort Funston yesterday where he played with a 1 year old white male boxer and an 8 month old flashy brindle female. They just know from a distance when the other dog is a boxer. Their style of play totally changes for other dogs.
I had him at a dog park the other day where there were a bunch of labs, a mean jack russell terrier and a bunch of mixed dogs and just felt so out of place because the other dogs werent as eager to wrestle as he was. Poor Cassius
