Sacramento or S.F./Bay Area?

Does anyone know of any play dates set or being scheduled for the Sacramento area - or even San Francisco/Bay Area? We've never gone to one, and think it would be such a blast. I'm totally willing to drive to the Bay Area.

I would also like to get together with other nor-cal boxer owners. Maya and I live in Benicia and they are quite a few Boxer's that we meet at our dog park. It would be nice to have a day where our boxers can meet and play

We would love to get together for a bash. Our Nikki has never been to one. We took her to the Norcal Rescue event at Petco in Citrus Heights. She had such a good time. We hope to be able to take her to other Boxer events in the future.

Fredan - how far away is Benicia from Sacramento? Isn't it about an hour or so? Would you rather do something there in Benicia, or drive to Sacramento - or either way?

AntJan - you mentioned Citrus Heights. Do you live in the Sacramento area then? If so, what dog parks do you go to? I live in the Natomas area - close to Arco Arena (and am a huge Kings fan!). There is a small dog park close to our house, but there's a much bigger one about 15 minutes from here. I think it's in Citrus Heights or Carmichael.

If we planned something in Sacramento, I know a couple other boxer owners that I could tell.

I have been saying that I would love to get together with other boxer owners but just haven't gotten around to it. If there was a set date I know I would be there. Keep me posted on what you guys plan.

I know there is a dog park in Citrus Heights but have never been or don't know exactly where it is but someone told me there was one.

Hi! We live in Lathrop, which is right after Stockton if you're coming from Sacto. We drove an hour to Citrus Heights so we could check out the Norcal Boxer Rescue. We wouldn't mind driving back to the Sacto area again for a Boxer Bash. We just moved into a new neighborhood and we know of a family around the corner from us that has a Boxer puppy that might want to bring along.

Bridgit - You live in Roseville? I work in Roseville (I'm at work right now). I work on Blue Oaks Blvd - close to HP. I looked up where that dog park is - thanks for the link. I'll have to ask my hubby exactly where that Citrus Heights dog park is.

So, for all of you who would be interested in a boxer bash here, are weekends best? If we do a weekend, are there any certain dates that you are unavailable? I can try to pick a weekend date when we're all available.

And if you know others with boxers, definitely invite them!! We'll bring Chewy and Stella (she'll have all her shots within a couple weeks from now).

Weekends are better for me but since I am getting married in 2 months my weekends are pretty booked until then. If you want to set a date I will do my best to be there. I do live in Roseville. When you set a date just let me know and like I said I will do my best to be there. Just let me know.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Weekends work better for us too. We were thinking maybe it would be better to schedule this bash after Bridget's wedding; does the weather get a little cooler around Aug/Sept in the Sacto area or does it still stay fairly hot? We're originally from San Jose and we've noticed how much hotter it gets here in this part of Cali. Maybe the weather would be a little more comfy for our Boxers if we schedule it around August. What do you all think? Whatever date we all agree on, we'll definitely be there!

Give me 2 months before my pup gets his shots, 2 months before he actually comes home with me, and hmmm... 2 weeks before he's born and we'll be THERE!

Hmm, maybe we'll have to wait for Nor Cal Boxer Bash #2 (or 3)
