I got up at 9 Sable was acting strange, she wouldnt lie down or walk around she just sat at the foot of my bed on the ground. I thought she was being lazy and didnt want to go downstairs to potty without me. So I turned on the TV and watched for a bit then when I went to go downstairs I noticed she was limping going down the stairs a bit. I encouraged her and Tyson to go out and potty she went out the door then right back in. She can barely climb up the stairs she almost tries to jump up the stairs but its like she is really weak. I have helped her up the stairs and put her in my bed and she is resting although she seems in pain. I AM CALLING THE VET as I type this I just want some thoughts on what this may be. Her face looks normal (ie. No sagging or drooping eye) she hasn't eaten or drank anything today that I have seen, but she doesnt eat much in the morning. I am just so concerned, as Tyson just had surgery on friday and now Sable is acting very strange, and I am on LAY OFF!! things always happen at the best times! Any advice would be appreciated.

update

The vet has suggested blood work to determine if it is a rare disorder affecting the joints, he also said that if this test comes back clean that we should consider testing the joint fluids of the carpals and the stifle, I do trust his info as he is a boxer lover/boxer owner as well as a vet. He feels more comfortable doing the blood first before having to mildly sedate her to test the joint fluid. She started acting better once we were at the vet's office... ofcourse.. then almost $200 later she is jumping and acting normal... sometimes I wonder if she is just being a drama queen (jk). I am keeping my upstairs off limits now when I am not at home (although they arent allowed in any upstairs rooms when we arent home) but on the off chance that it returns when I am not home I don't want her getting caught on the stairs or falling down them.

The vet mentioned some disorder "addings" or something? Im not sure... Blood work comes back tomorrow, if anyone has any thoughts let me know

It is good that you are calling your vet in the early stages of Sable’s symptoms. Best wishes to you; I completely understand the "lay off" vs. vet bills. My Magic got sick when my contract with my job ended. Luckily, my vet helped me get a Pet Care charge card and also set me up with a payment plan. I will watch your posts to see how things are going.

EDIT: I guess I was typing my post when you were typing your update.

Collie, Maybe your vet was referring to Addison's, a treatable disease in both humans and canines. I think the late president, J.F.K. had it. Keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers - Cathy
