Rubbing butt on floor

Last night my 5 month year old girl started rubbing her butt across the carpet. At first I didn't think anything of it, but this morning she kept on doing it. She never did this before, just started all of a sudden. Seems like it really itches. Every couple of minutes she is rubbing it again. She will rubb it so much it gets irritated and turns red. I tried doing some searches here about the problem, but didn't find anything. Can someone help?

She may have worms or else a problem with her anal sacs that is irritating her. I would take her to the vet and have them check it out as soon as you can so she doesn't create sores on her little butt from rubbing on the carpet a lot. Also, take a fecal sample to the vet when you go so they can check for worms.

Vela is right. She probably has problems with her anal sacs. Please take her to the vet.

I took her to the Vet this morning. It was problems with her anal sacs. I did a search on anal sacs on Boxer Wolrd and it came back with alot of helpful info. Thank you for your help.
