Roxy's Ears...

We decided to keep Roxy's ears natural. She is now about 6 months old and both of her ears stick straight up all the time. We have tried massaging and taping. The massaging does nothing and after the taping they pop back up within a day or two. We think she is cute no matter what but she does look a bit goofy with the ears up! Kind of like a big Chihuahua. If any one knows if this is normal or what we should do to have nice floppy natural ears please let me know.

Strange, I've never heard of them standing straight up. I'd like to see a pic of that

Anyways, if she is teething that would give her "fly away" ears. Maybe that's it. In the meantime i'd keep massaging them.

I feel for you. My brother has a female who is silly and so sweet. He didn't have her ears cropped and yet they stand straight up like a french bulldog. They look goofy and he's tried taping them too.

Hey, whatever works for them. I think no mtter what they look adorable.
As soon as I can download some fo the pics from my digital camera and get them loaded in my gallery, I'll show you what I mean.

Yes...Pics of other dogs that do the same thing would be nice. I hope they fall on their own otherwise they will probably stick up forever.

There's a little boxer girl being cared for by my local boxer rescue organization who has natural, uncropped ears that stand straight up all of the time. They are having a hard time adopting her out because of them. I find it so sad that people are that superficial!

Your girl is lucky to have a family that loves her and thinks she is cute no matter what! I think her ears will stay that way. One of mine has a longer nose than a boxer should have, but I love him just the same and think he's a handsome dog nonetheless.

I know exactly what you mean. My pit's ears were like that. His name was Noah, but everyone called him Yoda because of his ears. I absolutely LOVED his ears-thought it gave him character! The rescue group we got him from had taped his ears down for his picture online, so when we went to meet him, we weren't sure if that was the right dog . His ears were one of my favorite things about him!!

I have never heard of them natural standing up either!

I can only say to massage them, I think i must have massaged one of Elvis more than the other as one is a little flyaway but thats all characture!
