Rotating to Merrick from CS

I have searched on the forums, and know that I should rotate Nellie's food to a different protein source other than chicken, so I was going to go with Merrick's Wilderness Blend. I thought about just keeping her on Merrick from now on, but switching between the different flavors so she doesn't get bored. One thing I've noticed is that several people feed various flavors of Merrick to their babies. Once you start the Merrick brand, is it ok to give them different flavors without doing the slow rotation thing? And if I want to mix in some canned with her dry kibble, how much should I add? Can you add any flavor of canned food without it upsetting their tummies? Thanks in advance for your advice!! I love BW!!!

Merrick flavors

I switched my boxer, Daisy, to Merrick brand foods I started out with one flavor till I was sure she would have no problems then about a month later I added another flavor a little at a time to each of her meals. She now regularly eats all four flavors at will and it is not bothering her at all. I kinda think she likes it to as it is not always the same meal. When you add water it makes a really nice smelling gravy with the meal so I add warm water quite often and she is happier and calmer since I switched her to the Merrick brand food. I also purchase the Merrick brand canned food for her when we go away it is easier to carry and take with us and she has had no problem changing to that also. Switching to to Merrick is one of the best decisions I have made. Hope this helps you.

Thank you!! Yes, I have been wanting to switch for awhile, but have been reluctant to b/c no stores here carry the dry Merrick food. There are several that carry the canned food. There is only one store that carries the CS here. I was trying to avoid having to order food online, but that's ok!!! I know Nellie will like it and it's good for her, so that's what matters!! CS is a great food, but I think she's getting bored with it! :)

I get Merrick at my local "feed store". They also just carry the canned, but will order the dry for me when I ask. There is one store that I can drive to and just pick it up, but it's quite a haul to get there. You might ask one of the stores that carries the canned if they can order the dry for you too - saves you from having to order it on-line. :)
