Ahhh so mad! My fiance and I own a house and we live in the basement. Our roomates live in the upstairs part of the house. The pool table is in the basement so my roomate asked if he could be down there tonight with some friends and I said that was fine. OF course since there was a bunch of people over, Brinks wanted to be in the middle of the action. So I was upstairs and heard him whining but didnt think anything of it because I figured he was begging for the pizza they ordered. Well he continues whining so I went down there to check on him. My roomate had put him on his leash (which is only like 4 feet long) and tied it to one of the bedroom doors! So Brinks was stuck there without even being able to see anyone! I confronted him about it, and he said Brinks was trying to get to their pizza. Well DUH! You put it on the flipping floor! Sorry just super annoyed...Brinks is like my child and you certainly wouldnt put a two year old on a leash and tie him to a door! AHHHH!!!!! Anyone else have problems with people who just dont understand how much your fur baby means to you?? How do you get it through someones head that this "dog" is like your baby?

Im going through this ever ending battle with my family. Luckily my room mate loves them all and would never dow hat you just discribed. What they did was crulety as far as Im concerned. My family for the life of them selfs cant understand why I just adopted a 10-12 yr old boxer boy thats "just going to die soon anyways". Its hard to get people to understand. Just tell your room mate that if he does anything like that again there is going to be a price to pay. Sorry it happened and hope it all works out, I know how hard it is having dogs with a room mate. Good luck.

Well...if he is to do anything like that again, give him his walking papers...kick him out!! That is one sure way of letting people know just how much you love your boxer! Since you own your house, make a lease for renters that includes a clause like :"boxer is family in this house..if you do not find that acceptable, then YOU stay outside!" :)

Sorry, they were absolutely wrong to do that...but...I wouldn't have left him down there with a bunch of people partying in the first place, even if he did want to be in the middle of it. It was a disaster waiting to happen :(

sounds like you kept control of yourself when you found him tied up that was good but i dont know if i could have. if he didnt want him down there he should have asked you (in a nice way of course)if the boxer baby could stay upstairs with you. he wouldnt like being tied up to a door either.my bf always says my boxers are dogs i tell him no they are not they are my babies....sinbad and sierra send sloppy boxer kisses to your baby to help him feel better after his bad experience....

Sounds like your roomate has to go!!!

Congradulations on keeping control, I can't imagine what I would have done!

I do have two teenagers at home and inlaws in town, so our house if often very busy with people coming and going ( mostly coming ). Luckily, my perfect brindle boxer is never out of my sight when visitors are in the home ( her idea, not mine ) so I have never had such an experience.

Nevertheless, you have to ask your room-mate to leave! I would hate to think what might be happening when your not at home.

It's hard to kick the roomate out because my fiance and I are college students and that rent money is kind of essential to our living. However I did have another "chat" with him this morning when his friends werent around. I think I scared him enough that nothing like this will happen again. However, I did tell him if it did he would be out of the house no questions asked. Cb977- yeah you may be right I should not have let him be down there in the first place, but it wasnt really a party (like five people) and when they came in they were all playing with Brinks to begin with, so I had no reason to think anything was wrong. It's not like there was 40 drunk people in the basement. And just for the record they were not drinking...of course I wouldnt let him be around them if they were.

I am sorry to hear that Brinks was tied up like that....

Another option instead of kicking your roomate out is if they can't treat Brinks that way you expect them to when they're using the pool table, they won't be able to use it.

Give Brinks a kiss from us. lovicon
