BigBoy Rocky
Boxer Pal
This past Friday my husband and I returned home from work to find Rocky in a pretty bad situation. My big boy decided he wanted out of his crate and he almost succeeded... except for his hind left leg. We found him with his entire body out of the crate except his foot was caught in the door!! Apparently my husband says he doesn’t quiet remember if he closed both latches on his crate..
Needless to say I FREAKEDDDDD OUTTTT
, his leg looked horrible, we could see the meat in his foot and it was crooked. The crazy part is he wasn’t crying or bleeding. (My poor baby) I immediately thought its broken! its broken! *tear. We hurried him to the ER and they x-rayed him and we received good and bad news. The good news- its wasn’t broken, only a tiny fracture with will heal on its own with time. The bad news- his bones look a little shifted and this could affect his growth plates in his leg. UGHHHH!! So they bandaged him up send us home with his x-rays and an appointment to see the specialist on Saturday. The specialist ended up doing a stress test on his foot to see if his bones were damaged in the chaos of him trying to get free. Again, we were sent home with pain meds and the cute bandage you see in the pics and no answer of what the results were.
Well, FINALLY yesterday we got the call from the vet and thank GOD he doesn’t need surgery! appicon I felt bad enough that I wasn’t there to help him but now we have to keep him off of his feet for 2 weeks until his check up. I’m fine with the little difficulty that we are facing trying to keep him happy and off of his foot, Id rather have that than have his foot be permanently damaged. I cannot explain how horrible it felt to see my baby hurt and so soon, I mean we only had him for 2 weeks! We learned our lesson and we are keeping him in a smaller crate for now and as he grows he will upgrade him to his big one. I pray that he has a quick recovery and we get him back on track, he’s itching to run and playyyy. I don’t know what I’m going to do about leaving him in his crate..
Love this face! lovicon
Not even this stops him..
Cute bandage, Bad situation..
