I read somewhere in the forums about putting a hanging bell on the door you let your dog out to do his business. My wife and I tried it on our puppy. He is 4 1/2 months old and we have had him about 4 weeks now. The weather here has been awful....cold, snowy, rainy, etc.. This has made potty training difficult as "Tucker" has not wanted to go outside. Anyway, perserverance has finally paid off. Yesterday Tucker rang the bells with his nose, my wife immediately took him outside and he did both his businesses!! Then this morning, he went to a door he has never been let outside at and whined. We took him to his usual door, he whined again and we took him out and he did his business. Consistent effort does pay off! Thanks to the person who suggested the bell.
